FullSizeRenderA Fabulous summer school of gymnastics was enjoyed by all during August. What an amazing week of training and experimenting with new moves for both the gymnasts and the great coaching team.

Almost 30 gymnasts attended from dawn till dusk each day working on a range of new skills and conditioning sets ranging from tumbling to work on bars, beam and vault!

We were oversubscribed again so we will have to think about maybe doing two weeks next year!

pre_school2We have just created another 200+ spaces in new classes across three of our centres. Hartford, The Wingate and Middlewich will see new classes from September. A whole new range of Fun4baby, pre school, beginners, adults and a new development squad are all about to start and spaces are now available!

This represents the largest increase in availability we have had since we started and is only possible due to the partnerships with the Wingate Centre and Mid Cheshire College along with an increase in 10 coaches in the last three months.

Moss Farm, our new project, will release the potential for a few more, maybe 1,200 spaces, gulp!! a lot of work still to go into this and our partner, Cheshire West and Chester Council, are helping us to deliver this for the local community, keep your fingers crossed for the club.

Congratulations to three of our established club coaches who have all successfully passed another qualification with flying colours. Amanda Smith, Laura Hughes and Kirstie James have passed their level 2 General Gymnastics qualification which is regulated through our national governing body, British Gymnastics.

They have been working at the club for a number of years and now manage their own classes along with supporting coaches. This will continue the development of new moves within the club in an even more secure and well organised environment for the gymnasts.

Well done to you all!

We have finished our internal competition and have started to open the flood gates of new gymnasts joining our sessions. We wish them a very warm welcome and hope they like what we have to offer. We have also increased the number of coaches by six across the various venues to assist in accommodating this increase in numbers.group_shot

We are very proud as a small cohort of selected gymnasts are involved in the butterfly dance procession that is part of a number of displays within the Tatton flower show on the 23rd/24th July. The gymnasts will wear elaborate winged costumes with vibrant colours and dance their hearts out around the show, don’t miss them if you go!

Over 300 parents and gymnasts came together on the 11th July for the clubs’ annual championships. A day of great competition hosted by a warm and friendly Wingate Centre. The results are as follows:

club_champ_webOver 100 gymnasts are in the final of the Cheshire Gymnastics Championships on Saturday 11th July at the Wingate Centre. Its going to be a great event with displays from pre-schoolers and disabilities performers and lots of trophies to compete for across all levels in the club. The Wingate centre will host the competition and make available food and refreshments and even a display of Irish Dancing at lunchtime!

Parking is available on the adjacent farmers field and tickets are available in sessions across the various venue’s the week preceding the final. An email request and bank transfer can also be used to buy tickets, although numbers are limited so you must get a move on

There will be trophies for highest scores in each of the categories and across all pieces of equipment. the trophies are the largest and most impressive we have ever seen at the club too!

A video will be produced of the various displays that will be downloadable for parents at the club.

One request we have is if you have some availability on the Friday 10th in the afternoon to help set up the audience areas and after the competition ends, either one, that would be great.

See you all there!

LogoThe Wingate Centre has been selected as the local charity for this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power.  As such, they will be hosting a “posh picnic” at Cholmondeley on Saturday 13 June, where you can picnic in a marquee whilst listening to the Ultimate Power Ballards Concert. Please register your interest as soon as possible for this enormously popular event.

You can apply through the Wingate for a free Family pass to the picnic if you lend some support to carry a bucket for a couple of hours to raise funds – well worth it for tickets which can cost as much as £45/ticket!

The club will be displaying some of its talents at the Fab Festival in Middlewich on the 20th June. Lots of gymnasts from our display squad will be turning up so put the date in your diary it will be a treat! The festival includes lots of events and displays from a variety of organisations covering a whole weekend of live music and general fun across the whole area. Lets get as many families and people attending/supporting as possible! We are on at around 11.15am on the Civic Way, behind the Fire station on the field.

The club has just run an internal First Aid refresher course led by St Johns Ambulance and sixteen of our coaches now have current up to date knowledge of what to do in an emergency! Well done everyone!
